If you have been following my blogs on WordPress or on Blogger I have been trying to give new freelance writers tips of their trade in ways to become a successful freelance writer. Well here we are on Blogging Tips Part 4: The Best Social Networks to Use as a Writer.
I myself have run a few tests and experiments to see what the best outcome would be. Keep in mind it does have to deal with what you are writing about as well. If you are someone that followed the last blog: 3 Marketing Strategies Every Writer Should Know. You already know it is about writing content that interests people to the point that they keep coming back to find out what you are going to write about next. By doing that you will gain more web traffic. But what if I told you, you could gain even more traffic to your blog or website just by using your social networking skills as well.
Using Your Facebook Page, Groups and Organizations
Over the last month, I have tested several theories and have found that while Facebook is widely used to stay in contact with your friends and family. There are many other ways as a writer that you can utilize the social network as well.
Post your work to your Facebook. If you are someone that has a Facebook take the time to share your work with your friends and family. You would be surprised as to how many people will read your work and send it to their friends and family. In turn they will increase your website traffic or your blog traffic.
Take the time to some groups or organizations that your writing would benefit. There are a lot of writer websites out on Facebook that you can join and submit your articles to on your blog or website and have other writers read it and a lot of the time they will comment on your work. Or possibly give you ideas for more work that you could write about. On a daily basis, I reach between 700 to 1000 people a day. Now if you times that by 30 days, given that you write and advertise your work every day that is almost 30,000 people a month. But you do have to stay active in writing new pieces every day.
Don’t Be Fooled by Twitter
You may not have a Twitter Account but as a writer I would strongly suggest that you sign up for one. You would be surprised as to how many people will add you to their list of individuals to read. Plus they will ask to be your friends to see your work right when you post it. While I am still new on twitter myself as a writer it is my second highest social network site that people view my work on a daily basis and I gain more people adding me and retweeting my work to their Twitter account for their friends to read.
I promise you that if you use just these 2 social networking sites you will see that in just one month you will gain just as much if not more of a presence online and people that will keep coming back to read your work with every piece that you write. I hope that this helps any and all of my readers and followers in succeeding as a writer.
